As a psychotherapist, it is well established that primary relationships are foundational to a healthy human being. From your post, it dawned on me that of course God would create a world where loving relationships are of primary importance. It’s rather life altering that we can be in an intimate relationship with God. As an inquirer of the Orthodox faith, your posts are incredibly helpful and inspiring. ❤️

Excellent, thank you Deacon Carlos. This change in understanding has been critical for me. Though, being honest, even being in the Church for over 12 years now, I still bear the wounds of “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” Christianity. I suspect it has to do with its introduction into my life in my formative years. The intellectual recognition comes easier than the reprogramming of the heart’s automatic instincts. “I’ve sinned; God is angry with me.” Thanks again for this reminder.
